The 2008 All Star Selection Process

Abstract:
The purpose of this document is to create and define a formal procedure for Spokane Pony
Baseball relating to the selection of the year-end All-Star teams within each respective age
division. All-Star baseball is to be considered above and beyond the regular baseball season
and shall not interfere with that play.

Scope:
This document supersedes all existing and preceding procedures.

1.1        To apply for the All Star head coaching position you must be a head coach during the
regular season unless approved by the board.  Coaches interested in coaching the All-Star team
must submit their interest by May 1st. Through a voting process whereby each head coach
casts three votes, one for the head coach and one vote for each of the two assistants, the coach
who receives the highest number of votes shall be named the All-Star Manager.  The assistant
coaches are the 2nd and 3rd place vote getters.  (Two points awarded for a head coach vote,
and 1 point each for an assistant vote)

1.2        Head coaches are required to nominate all All-Star Caliber players on their respective
teams. It shall be required, of each coach within Spokane Pony Baseball, to submit a completed
All-Star nomination ballot.

1.3        In order to complete the All-Star roster, there is a tryout process for all players.
