Region Alignment for Pony Baseball

In order to continue to grow a strong league, maintain consistency, and in the
interest of keeping the competition equal, Pony Baseball of Spokane has
developed the following method for forming teams.  The following table shows
the way that the three Regions, and the Districts that comprise the regions, will
be divided.

Region        Districts in Region        High Schools / Geographic Area in District

A       1
Riverside, Deer Park and north to Canadian border (including Priest River)
         2       Mead and Mt. Spokane

           3         Rogers, Lakeside

B           4         Cheney, Medical Lake

5         Ferris, Lewis & Clark, Liberty

          6         Shadle, NC

C
        7         University, West Valley, Freeman

8         Central Valley, East Valley, Liberty Lake

9         Koontenai County, (CDA, Post Falls etc.)

Some explanation –

(1)        Players are encouraged to play on a team within their district. However, if
there are no teams available within your district, you may play on a team within
your region.
(2)        Players are required to play within their region. Players may only play
outside of their region with board approval. These scenarios will most likely
occur when a player is placed on a team outside of his region because there are
no available teams within his/her region.
(3)        Players who end up playing out of region will not automatically be
grandfathered on their out of region team the following season. Once again, this
will require board approval.
(4)        Players attending private schools will need to play in the district/region in
which he/she lives.

For 2009 we made the boundaries a little less restrictive within the region. We
also moved a couple of schools from region A to region B. The intent is to make it
easier to find players to build a team (not to stack teams). Pony encourages you
to stay within district if at all possible. The idea is to have a well balanced league
that fosters good competition and player development. Coaches, the success of
this depends on you.

Finally, in all cases the age specific commissioner and the Pony Board will have
the final say in any exceptions that are granted or denied.
